Sailing Clubs and Associations
All yacht clubs and associations are invited to join World Sailing Day-28 May.
The membership levels are: Affiliate membership (free), Supporting Partner membership and Founding Partner membership.
Affiliate Club membership is free – and we ask that you simply register and publivcise your support for World Sailing Day. Newly formed clubs, younger than 18 months old, as well as all student clubs and small clubs (which have less than 75 members) are also classified as Affiliate members and are not asked to contribute, although contributions will be welcome!
Founding and Supporting Clubs are requested to contribute based on the current number of members of the yacht club (excluding junior members) and for clubs/associations who wish to help and contribute in kind, instead of making a cash contribution,.
World Sailing Day-28 May has also developed a Club & Association Revenue Generation program to help clubs raise funds and attact sponsors locally, using World Sailing Day-28 May, the associated events, activations, content and media.

Patrons of World Sailing Day-28 May
Patrons of World Sailing Day-May 28 are individuals and families who choose to support the organisation and growth by making a contribution of $1,000 or more, Patrons help us:
- bring new people onto the water
- fund youth and inclusion projects
- preserve classic boats and sailing heritage
- grow World Sailing Day-May 28 as a global celebration.
Patrons receive all Member benefits, plus:
- recognition on the official Roll of Patrons (optional or anonymous)
- invitations to selected Patron experiences and briefings
- priority access for limited-capacity events and voyages
- Patron-only editions of WSD merchandise and artwork.

There are many ways to take part in World Sailing Day. You may be interested in getting involved, but unsure where to begin, please contact us and we will provide you a simple step-by-step guide to help you get started.
Remember, participation does not follow a single format. Every club, organisation, business, and individual can contribute and volunteer their support in their own way. Whether you host an event, invite new people to discover sailing, support your local waterfront community, or simply help spread the word, each action plays a role in creating a meaningful global moment.
Typical volunteer roles include:
- On-water support crews and harbour/marina hosts
- Event photography and content capture
- Youth and family activity support
- Local language and community outreach – our main language is English however WSD-28 May is now being communicated across 17 languages. Can you help providing texts for your local language ?
No matter how you choose to take part, thank you for making the decision to be involved in World Sailing Day.
Ambassador
Join us as a local Sailing Ambassador. Help us anchor World Sailing Day in your community. You can support the movement by enaging those int he commnunity around you and by informing us of the events and activiations that have taken place.
You can also contribute to the movement by becoming the local partner contact for our fundraising partners.
